The Dallas Cowboys could be without one of their top players in cornerback Trevon Diggs when they visit the New England Patriots for Week 6.

Diggs has been labeled as a game-time decision for the showdown due to a right ankle injury. Per Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News, head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that they are doing their best to get Diggs ready for the game, with Cowboys' Director of Rehabilitation Britt Brown working with the 24-year-old.

Trevon Diggs, for his part, is staying positive despite his injury status. The Cowboys rising star also downplayed the severity of the issue and suggested it's a normal football injury.

“I feel good. I’m still taking it day by day, just going to see how I feel,” Diggs said Thursday, via Calvin Watkins of the Dallas Morning News. “Yeah I mean you’re going to get little nicks and bruises. It’s nothing for real. It is what is.”

Diggs is an important defensive cog for the Cowboys, and his presence is much-needed if America's Team is to take down the New England Patriots. After all, the second-year CB has already made six interceptions and is on pace to record 20 this 2021–something that no one has ever done in the last 30 years or so.

The young cornerback certainly strikes fear into the hearts of opposing QBs, and his activity on the field helps the Cowboys dominate games quickly. He is one of the reasons why they have been so successful, riding a four-game winning streak entering Week 6.
