The Dallas Cowboys have one of the trickiest contract situations in the entire NFL. Three of the their best players just happen to need extensions at the same time. Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott are the core pieces of the Cowboys, and all of them know it. With Elliott already holding out, there's a dire need to get contracts for the other two done as soon as possible. But executive vice president Stephen Jones isn't too worried.

“Yeah, we talked about generalities, but there were no details discussed, I’ve got a lot of respect for all of these guys. They’re trying to do their job, and we’re trying to do our job, and we’re trying out a way for both of us to get our job done,” he said, according to Pro Football Talk.

Prescott, a former fourth-round quarterback, is demanding $40 million a year. Cooper will likely demand top-five money at his position as well. After extending linebacker Jaylon Smith, the Cowboys simply don't have enough money to extend all three of their offensive stars.

An Elliott extension already seems out of reach with him training in Cabo, but Prescott and Cooper are both in reach. Prescott's performance doesn't really indicate he deserves to be paid as much as he's asked for, but if the Cowboys don't pay him, someone will. Cooper revitalized Dallas after the trade deadline last year, and is a crucial part of the passing attack.

Prescott's extension will come first, but don't expect Cooper to be far behind.
