The Dallas Cowboys are in shambles at the moment.

They have lost three straight games to drop to 6-7, their head coach is clearly on his way out and the Philadelphia Eagles won on Monday night to draw even with the Cowboys for first place in the NFC East.

With a monster Week 15 matchup with the Los Angeles Rams looming, Dallas defensive lineman DeMarcus Lawrence knows he needs to come up big.

“I’m testifying,” Lawrence said, according to David Moore of The Dallas Morning News. “I’ll take ownership of those last couple of games. I haven’t been playing like myself. I haven’t been taking the leadership role I should be taking. It’s time for me to step up.”

The typically stout Cowboys' defense has been particularly porous over the last couple of weeks, allowing 57 points and 738 total yards in losses to the Buffalo Bills and Chicago Bears, clubs not exactly known for their offenses.

While Lawrence is far from the only player at fault, his struggles have dated back to Week 10, as he has logged just a half of a sack since then.

On the season overall, Lawrence, who received a lucrative contract extension from Dallas this past offseason, has tallied 41 tackles, five sacks, a couple of forced fumbles and a pair of fumble recoveries.

Not exactly what the Cowboys expected from the guy who posted back-to-back double-digit sack seasons in 2017 and 2018, leading to consecutive Pro Bowl appearances.

Since beginning the season 3-0, Dallas has gone just 3-7, missing a brilliant opportunity to put the clamps on the NFC East with the Eagles struggling.
