Jerry Jones was adamant about CeeDee Lamb wearing the No. 88 jersey for the Dallas Cowboys after being drafted by them in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. After seeing the decision, Dez Bryant joined Michael Irvin in supporting Lamb for wearing the No. 88 jersey.

While Lamb wanted to wear No. 10 for Dallas next season, Jones informed him that he wanted him to wear No. 88. Therefore, the rookie wide receiver listened to Jones and decided to be the next wide receiver of the Cowboys to wear No. 88.

On Friday, Irvin shared how much he loves Lamb and that he believes he could be an immediate difference-maker in Dallas. Following Irvin's support, Bryant wanted to show that he supported the move as well.

Before Lamb, the last wide receiver to wear No. 88 for the Cowboys was Bryant. As a first-round pick, Bryant would wear No. 88 from 2010-2017, evolving into one of the best receivers in the NFL. From 2012-2014, Bryant actually had a three-year span where he combined for 273 receptions, 3,935 yards, and 41 touchdowns.

Unfortunately for Bryant, injuries caused his career in Dallas to come to an abrupt halt. Despite having not played a game since 2017, Bryant is interested in making a return in 2020.

As a matter of fact, he expressed his interest in reuniting with the Cowboys earlier this offseason. But with Lamb receiving the No. 88 jersey, that likely means Bryant won't be making a comeback in Dallas. At the least, Bryant appears to be rooting for Lamb as he tries to continue the legacy of the No. 88 jersey.
