Prior to the 2017 season, things became a bit unhinged for Dallas Cowboys star running Ezekiel Elliott with his six-game suspension handed down by the league for violating the personal conduct policy. This became a bit of a looming distraction until he finally chose to serve it without further prolonging the appeal process.

It significantly limited Elliott's impact on the field as the Cowboys failed to reach the postseason. According to Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Star-Telegram, Elliott expressed that he's aiming to bounce back in 2018.

“I think I have been that running back the team needs,” Elliott said. “I just want to continue to be that and be even better…I wouldn’t say last year was a bad year for me. I played 10 games and had almost 1,000 yards…I plan on having a good year.”

The 22-year-old isn't coming off an entirely disappointing campaign. When he was able to take the field, Zeke was a strong source of production, finishing with 983 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in just 10 games played along with 26 catches for 269 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. He finished 10th in the league in rushing, tied for 11th in rushing touchdowns, and third with five 100-yard rushing performances.

In his brief NFL career, Elliott has made it clear that he is game-changing talent that the Cowboys will continue to feature prominently in their offensive game plan. He is without a doubt one of the league's most productive players at his position who should experience a bounce-back 2018 season that could rival his breakout 2016 rookie campaign where he notched a league-high 1,631 rushing yards.
