The entire Dallas Cowboys unit was left in shambles when veteran quarterback Andy Dalton was dealt with an ugly hit by Washington Football Team linebacker Jon Bostic in the third quarter of their Week 7 encounter. Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott was straightforward in his response when asked about his reaction to the incident, as per Sports Illustrated:

“Just how sh–ty this year has been,” Zeke said. “How bad this year's been.”

The Red Rifle was eventually diagnosed with a concussion which leaves his availability for their next game against the Philadelphia Eagles still up in the air. On the other hand, the league has already decided that Bostic will not be suspended in any of their upcoming games for his role in the incident.

With Dalton's absence, rookie playmaker Ben Dinucci was eventually slotted in under center where he recorded 39 passing yards on 2-of-3 passes completed and was dealt with three sacks. The encounter eventually ended on a 25-3 decision in favor of Washington.

Indeed, it has been that type of year for the Cowboys even after undergoing a massive facelift and moving several pieces during the recent offseason. The Cowboys' 2-5 record in the early stages of the season does not make things any better for head coach Mike McCarthy and the rest of the team.

Without their QB1 in Dak Prescott at the helm and with Dalton's uncertain situation, the Cowboys will be braving a tougher storm for the remaining nine weeks of the season. Despite the odds, the team will have to make things work and aim to come out on top of a struggling NFC East division.
