The Dallas Cowboys' 2020 debut was far from ideal.

Apart from losing their season-opener against the Los Angeles Rams, 17-20, the Cowboys also lost a few vital pieces of their lineup after a number of key members had to leave the game for seemingly serious injuries.

Starting TE Blake Jarwin was one of the few Cowboys who suffered an injury in their first game against the Rams, as he exited the field in the second quarter with an apparent knee injury. It has been reported that the team fears their TE suffered from a torn ACL, which would end up being a huge hit for the Dallas offensive line.

Star running back Ezekiel Elliott can't help but feel for Jarwin, noting how the tight end worked hard during the offseason and training camp.

“It's really sad,” Ezekiel Elliott said on Jarwin's potential season-ending injury, per Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News . “You see a guy work so hard all of camp. My heart foes out to him. We're going to be praying for him.”

Elliot had to carry the load on Sunday, scoring two rushing TDs to keep the Cowboys in the game. Unfortunately, the Rams proved to be too much for Dallas as they opened their doors to the new SoFi Stadium with a win.

Aside from Jarwin, reserve offensive tackle Cam Erving also suffered a knee injury. LB Leighton Vander Esch also had to leave the game after he fractured his collarbone early in the contest.

After three seasons with the Cowboys, this year was supposed to be the year that Jarwin would show his class as the Cowboys' primary TE. Fans got a glimpse of his potential last year after he recorded a career-best 365 receiving yards and 31 receptions in seven starts for Dallas.

Prayers up for Blake Jarwin.
