The Dallas Cowboys have worked running back Ezekiel Elliott a lot during his first two seasons in the league. That is likely set to continue this season, and he could possibly have even more to do. But Elliott doesn’t seem to mind all the work that’s headed his way; in fact, he seems to embrace it.

“I'm all for it, you know what I mean?” Elliott said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “A lot is asked from the running back for the Dallas Cowboys, a lot has been asked for me the past two seasons, and I think I've had some great strides this offseason getting ready to carry that workload this season.”

Elliott has been handed the ball an incredible amount through his first two years. As a rookie in 2016, he led the league with 322 carries in 15 regular-season games. And last year, he racked up 242 carries even though he was limited to just 10 games due to a six-game suspension. He’s also picked up 58 more touches over the last two years with receptions.

With the uncertainty surrounding the Cowboys’ receiving game following the departures of Dez Bryant and Jason Witten this offseason, the Cowboys could lean even more on Elliott and their stellar running game on offense.

Running backs coach Gary Brown has advised Elliott to be in the best shape of his life this season by training camp in anticipation of the workload — and the loaded boxes — he's likely to see this year. Elliott’s ability to do so could potentially make or break the Cowboys’ success this season.
