The Dallas Cowboys and running back Ezekiel Elliott aren't seeing eye-to-eye in regards to his contract, which is why Elliott is not with the team yet.

Despite not being with the team, Elliott is apparently ready to go. Any worries about him being overweight or out of shape should be relieved substantially thanks to this latest news:

While this is certainly a good sign, Elliott will still have to work his way back into football shape. There's a difference between being at a desired weight and being ready to effectively play in the NFL He is still behind because of how much camp he has missed, but at least this is a good start.

Ezekiel Elliott has been one of the best running backs in football since entering the league in 2016. In his rookie year, he racked up 1,631 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground. While his two years since have both been great, his rookie numbers still remain his best, so a return to the weight he had in that first year is definitely a positive.

However, the issue has never been with Elliott's performance or his weight. The issue right now is with the contract. If the Cowboys and Elliott can't find common ground, then none of this will matter.

For now, though, this weight news is definitely good for the Dallas Cowboys. Ezekiel Elliott appears ready to go with a weight he hasn't seen since his rookie year. Now he just needs to rejoin the team and get on the field.
