Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb got a vote of confidence from his head coach, Mike McCarthy, ahead of Sunday's matchup vs the Denver Broncos.

McCarthy, while speaking to media Friday, referred to Lamb's injured ankle as “not of high concern,” according to Dallas News beat writer Calvin Watkins.

CeeDee Lamb injured his ankle at practice Wednesday and did not practice at all Thursday. However, the sentiment from McCarthy indicated that might have been out of precaution.

Lamb is in the midst of a breakout season. He has 609 receiving yards in 7 games, with Dallas already having had their bye week. Entering Week 9, that was the 8th most in the NFL.

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Michael Pittman Jr. passed him last night. Pittman is having a breakout season of his own.

When fantasy managers drafted Lamb in the early-to-mid rounds, it was still unknown exactly who would be the Cowboys WR1. Amari Cooper was drafted in the same range as Lamb, and had shown he could be a true WR1 in fantasy previously.

However, it has been Lamb who taken over that role this season. Lamb leads the team in targets, catches and yards, albeit by a slim margin ahead of Cooper.

All eyes will be on Lamb during the open portion of Friday's practice to the media. It is assumed he might land a questionable tag, but if he gets in even a limited practice, you can roll him out without thinking twice.

The Cowboys host the Denver Broncos Sunday in a game where Dallas is heavily favored. That potential game script does not bode well for Lamb, so you might want to temper expectations.
