Football Hall of Famer and former Dallas Cowboys star Herschel Walker and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban had some disagreements over the “Black Lives Matter” movement in professional sports.

In a recent appearance on the Fox News special “The Fight For America,” Walker — a known Donald Trump supporter — shared his doubts about the real impact of the BLM movement in sports.

“The most sensitive topic in the NFL, if you want to talk about equality, is ‘why do you not have black coaches in the NFL?‘” the former Cowboys star said, per Dallas Morning News. “To say that you’re going to put BLM on the field or on a jersey, well, some people may not believe in BLM. I’m not sure what [the Black Lives Matter organization] stand for. How could the NFL say ‘we want to support BLM’ or ‘we’re going to do this here’ without having the players to say what they want? Because you can not put that on a player who may disagree with it.”

Also present on the Fox News special was Cuban, who defended the NBA’s decision to allow social justice messages on players’ jerseys and have “Black Lives Matter” on the court for the league’s restart following a four-month hiatus.

As most sports fans know, the NBA has been at the forefront of protests against racism and social injustice in the US. Aside from joining the peaceful marches in previous months, players also continuously speak about the matter in the Orlando bubble.

“This wasn’t defined by the management of the NBA, this is what our players asked us to do. It’s important to our players, it’s important to our fans, but most importantly, it’s important to the United States of America,” Cuban said.

The Cowboys legend rebutted Cuban by saying “Americans’ lives matter. However, Mark Cuban finished the disagreement with a well-thought out parting statement for Herschel Walker.

“Every life matters but when someone is in trouble you address them first. The Black community has had issues and I think, you know, systemic racism has been here for generations, it’s not going away unless we do something about it,” the Mavs boss shared.
