A third of the season has passed, and teams are now starting to assess their options. However, the Dallas Cowboys aren't considering a change of head coach. Jason Garrett is safe… for now.

The Cowboys suffered a tough loss at the hands of NFC rivals Green Bay Packers. It was an unacceptable result for a team that's trying to make the Super Bowl.

However, team executive Stephen Jones denied any allegations that the head coach's job is on the line after the defeat. Instead, he offered his support for Jason Garrett.

Pro Football Talk's Darin Gantt wrote:

“He’s done a great job with this team,” Jones said, via Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News. “As you saw yesterday, he had this team playing hard when on a lot of teams that game could’ve gotten real ugly when it was.”

One of the probable reasons as to why he's not in any danger may have something to do with the fact that the Packers were simply incredible in their Week 5 duel.

Aaron Jones was unbelievable in this game completing four rushing touchdowns for the team. The team was able to limit Aaron Rodgers' effectiveness from the pocket as he only completed 238 passing yards.

However, this doesn't mean that the leash is shortening on Jason Garrett. Given the quality of players he has at his disposal, the natural expectation out of him is to win games.

If he fails to deliver, he might follow Jay Gruden out the exit door.
