Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Scott Linehan is expected to return to the team in 2019, Jason Garrett said recently.

Garrett, the head coach for the Cowboys, shared his predictions on 105.3 The Fan, in which he confirmed that he “doesn't expect any major changes to the staff.”

But, as the tweet above indicates, not everyone is happy about the prospect of Linehan staying on for yet another season.

Linehan, in fact, has come under fire by Cowboys fans for his lack of creativity, and for the team's struggle in the red zone this past season.

The Cowboys finished 22nd in total yards and 22nd in scoring in 2018. Dallas ranked 24th in offensive efficiency by Football Outsiders, and many sports commentators blame Scott Linehan for that lack of consistency on the field.

However, even though Linehan has come under fire for the past few seasons, he's expected to stay on board with the team for another season thanks to the team's playoff run this season.

One might argue that blind luck is not the same thing as consistency — and they'd be right — but, as Garrett has made clear, that doesn't mean he thinks Linehan should go anywhere anytime soon, regardless of what the fans think of the matter.

Arguably, as well, Garrett's line of thought involved consistency for his players — namely, Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and the newly-imported Amari Cooper — over following the trend. That said, Scott Linehan really has one more season to successfully prove himself a good addition to the coaching roster.
