Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley is set to be a free agent in March, but Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett wants him back:

“Cole Beasley knows how much I love him, our coaching staff loves him, our organization loves him, his teammates love him,” said Garrett, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. “He's been a hell of a player for us and we want him here in Dallas. He certainly knows that.”

Beasley is expected to generate some significant interest on the open market after an impressive 2018 campaign in which he hauled in 65 receptions for 672 yards and three touchdowns.

While Beasley is certainly not a speed demon or a dominant possession receiver, he is very solid slot receiver who has sure hands. The 29-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Southern Methodist University, went undrafted but landed in Dallas for the 2012 season, catching 15 passes for 128 yards in a very limited role.

The following year, Beasley's role within the offense grew, as he snared 39 balls for 368 yards and a couple of scores. From that point forward, Beasley became a consistent threat in the Cowboys' passing game, and in 2016, he had a breakout year of sorts, finishing with 75 catches for 833 yards while reaching the end zone five times.

Since his third season in 2014, Beasley has missed just one game, with that one absence coming in 2017.

The Cowboys are coming off of a 2018 campaign in which they won 10 games and captured the NFC East division title. They then defeated the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round.
