Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott is coming off an abysmal performance against the Green Bay Packers in Week 5. Fortunately, tight end Jason Witten is optimistic he will find a way to bounce back.

Prescott threw three interceptions in the 34-24 loss to the Packers. According to Jori Epstein of USA Today, Witten feels he does not have to worry about him getting too down on himself.

“He’s not one of those guys you have to worry about from that standpoint of you’ve got to keep his confidence high or spirit the right way,” Witten said. “Really it’s just kind of a high five, show some energy to him, give him some love and move on to the next game.”

“He’s as poised as any teammate I’ve ever had.”

This is certainly some high praise coming from Witten. Having a short memory is an important quality for quarterbacks. The Cowboys will need him to find his rhythm once again if they hope to get back in track in the 2019 NFL season.

There are a number of factors that can be attributed to Prescott's lackluster performance as of late. For starters' Dallas has been without the cornerstone of its offensive line in left tackle Tyron Smith. Although some drop-off was to be expected with backup left tackle Cameron Fleming, Smith's absence has proved to be quite significant.

Although Witten is not worried about the lackluster outing, it is safe to say that Prescott's agents are. There had been plenty of talk regarding his looming long-term extension following a hot start to the year, however, the hype has died down now that his play has cooled off. He will need to avoid producing any more of these games if he hopes to earn that lucrative deal in the near future.
