Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten decided to come out of retirement. That move has led to record-breaking moments. In Sunday's Week 2 matchup with the Washington Redskins, the 37-year-old scored his 70th touchdown for his longtime franchise.

Per NFL Research on Twitter, Witten became the third player in Cowboys franchise history to record 70 or more touchdowns. Dez Bryant and Bob Hayes are the only two other Dallas players to achieve the remarkable feat.

Witten also scored a touchdown in his reemergence last week for the Cowboys in their Week 1 rout over NFC East division rivals New York Giants. The 11-time Pro-Bowl tight end tallied only three receptions for 15 yards last week against the Giants but scored a touchdown in limited snaps.

So far against the Redskins on Sunday, Witten has recorded three receptions for single-digit yardage but that record-making goal line touchdown to hit the 70 plateau.

Witten announced his retirement from the NFL in May of last year, after which he joined ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast. After a single season working for ESPN and partially away from the game, Witten announced he was signing a one-year, $4.5 million deal with the Cowboys to return to the gridiron and assist franchise quarterback Dak Prescott and Dallas' offense.

Witten had previously played 15 seasons with the Cowboys, turning into a mainstay at tight end for the offense since he was selected in the third round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the Texas organization.
