The Dallas Cowboys are coming off of a Thursday Night Football victory over the New Orleans Saints. One of the big storylines heading into the contest was the health of Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who has been nursing a nagging knee injury. Owner Jerry Jones provided an update on Elliott that will please Dallas fans.

If what Jones is saying is true, that's good news for Elliott and the Cowboys. Elliott's reps were managed a bit in Weeks 9 and 10, but aside from that, the Cowboys have largely let the star halfback, who has a high threshold for pain, play through the ailment to the displeasure of some.

The Cowboys' and Jones' management of the Elliott injury is a bit questionable when considering they have a perfectly capable backup in Tony Pollard. Elliott hasn't gained over 50 yards in a month after doing so in seven of his first eight games. Why not let Elliott rest for a game to get right?

Well, Jones has shot down any talk of that happening with his recent comments on Elliott. Jones does make a good point in that Elliott will get some extra days to rest, considering the Cowboys played on Thursday. Judging by what Jones was told by trainers, it sounds like Elliott will be good to go for Dallas down the stretch.

Jerry Jones just made Cowboys fans very happy with his update on Ezekiel Elliott.
