In a surprising move, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones called into The Fan to clear the air about a few comments made by DeMarcus Lawrence and Cole Beasley.

The call into the station was a surprise, and it was evident in the host's voice. However, Jones further surprised everyone by taking up the cause for the two players.

He started out by taking up the cause for Demarcus Lawrence, who sparked debate when he posted “your move” on Twitter.

“I make everything plus for DeMarcus and should. No one has given any more, prepared any better, and performed any better than DeMarcus has. So, I’m all for that.”

Then, on his own, Jerry Jones brought up Cole Beasley, who also sparked a debate when he posted his own little call-out on Twitter.

Like with Lawrence, Jerry Jones also took up the cause for Beasley, per Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk.

“While I’m at it these comments that these players make, the one that Cole Beasley made. I love it, and that’s Cole. I asked Cole when Cole first got here as a free agent, I told him he played pretty good. And I saw him, introduced myself, really personal, and said, ‘Man, you looked pretty good out there. I’m proud for you.’ And he said, ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet.’ Well, that’s Cole Beasley. That’s Cole Beasley.”

Despite Jerry Jones' proclamation in favor of both these players, DeMarcus Lawrence is still set to become a free agent in March. It's unclear whether the Cowboys are willing to let him walk, however.
