Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has not exactly been lighting it up during training camp. The third-year QB has had his struggles throwing the ball, particularly with the deep passes, which have added to the concerns surrounding the Cowboys passing game following the departures of his top receivers, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten.

But when asked about his quarterback’s play, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones sounded anything but concerned.

“I've been pleased all camp,” Jones said per Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News. “I get the benefit of what is going on off the field. I get the benefit of what goes on in the meetings, what they're trying to do and what they're getting done, his grasp of where we're trying to go with the offense, all of that. I'm really pleased.

“I'm really pleased with how focused and, how it should be, how much he has zeroed-in on the task at hand.”

Prescott came up with a nice response to his critics as he threw a perfect 30-yard bomb to Michael Gallup in the preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers. Although, he still has some way to go before he can truly dispel all those concerns.

But at least Prescott won’t have to worry about added pressure coming from ownership. Jones and the rest of the Cowboys organization still seem to have full confidence in the quarterback’s ability to perform and capably lead the team when the regular season comes along. It will now be up to Prescott to prove everyone right by delivering the goods.
