Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has continued to stand behind Jason Garrett as his head coach and believes that if he would have hit the open market a few weeks ago he would have at least five offers to be the head coach for a different team.

“If Jason Garrett had been out on the market two weeks ago, he would’ve had five offers for head coaching. I know that” said Jones on 105.3 The Fan.

Jones might have a point because Garrett is well respected in the industry, but so is Mike McCarthy and most believed he would get another head coaching shot this offseason, but that never came to fruition.

Jones was also asked again about any changes that he might make to his staff but he didn't have any comment, because he still isn't sure what direction he wants to go in.

“I like the direction we’re going in. I don’t have any comments this morning about extensions, because my options are open” said Jones. “Nobody knows, because I don’t know this morning, and I’m the last say.”

Garrett has piled up a career coaching record of 79-61 and the team did take the next step forward this year winning a playoff game.

Even with Garrett returning next year the expectations are going to be even higher. The team took big strides the second half of the year and with a solid offseason, there are going to be expectations next year that this team is in the NFC Championship game, something they missed by only one game this year.
