Jon Kitna is expected to become the Dallas Cowboys new quarterbacks coach, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This lines up with earlier reports that said current Cowboys quarterbacks coach Kellen Moore is a serious candidate to become the team's next offensive coordinator, so Kitna may be the first domino to fall.

Kitna actually spent two years as a quarterback for Dallas in 2010 and 2011, playing 13 games and making nine starts, with all of his starts coming during the 2010 campaign.

That season, Kitna threw for 2,365 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions while completing 65.7 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 88.9 if relief of an injured Tony Romo.

The 46-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Central Washington, went undrafted in 1996 but signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

Kitna ended up spending five seasons with the Seahawks, becoming the full-time starter during the 1999 campaign and throwing for 3,346 yards, 23 touchdowns, and 16 picks while completing 54.5 percent of his passes and recording a passer rating of 77.7.

After his stint with Seattle, Kitna made his way to the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played six seasons. He had one solid year with the Bengals in 2003, when he finished with 3,591 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions, but, for the most part, Kitna's Bengals tenure was a disaster.

He then landed with the Detroit Lions in 2006, spending three years with the club and leading the NFL in completions during the 2006 campaign before finally signing with the Cowboys.

Dallas is in need of an offensive coordinator after parting ways with Scott Linehan, so it makes sense that Moore would take that job while Kitna becomes the quarterbacks coach.
