NBA legend Magic Johnson made fans scream in delight during his heyday with the Los Angeles Lakers. These days, he's been making fans scream in frustration with his obvious takes on Twitter. On Thursday, he made another bold pronouncement after Dak Prescott made his return for the Dallas Cowboys.

As the new NFL season kicked off, Prescott led a furious rally for the Cowboys in the second half against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They even took the lead in the fourth quarter before the Buccaneers eked out a 31-29 win with a last-second field goal.

It was Prescott's first game back since suffering a leg injury last season, and his rousing return prompted Magic to make an early prediction that the Cowboys will rule the NFC East.

The Cowboys haven't topped the NFC East in back-to-back seasons despite Prescott being at the helm. So some might argue that Magic overreacted after only one game. But in all fairness, he's not too far off.

Prescott, who hasn't played in 333 days prior to their meeting with the Buccaneers, finished with 42-58, 403 yards, and three touchdowns. He went toe to toe with Tom Brady who tallied totals of 31-50, 379 yards, and four touchdowns.

The 28-year-old Prescott already said that he has high expectations of himself this season, so winning the NFC East, as Magic predicted, could be one of his main goals. His performance against the Buccaneers was definitely a good start.

Dak Prescott and the rest of the Cowboys will look to bounce back against the Los Angeles Chargers on September 19.
