Although it is not official, the Dallas Cowboys are reportedly planning to move on from head coach Jason Garrett. It appears former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is on their list of potential candidates to fill their looming vacancy.

While the prospect of taking over a job as coveted as this one is certainly intriguing, it seems he still has some conditions if he joins the Cowboys or another team. According to NFL Network's Mike Garofolo, bringing in Hue Jackson as the offensive coordinator is one of them:

Marvin Lewis is telling teams he interviews with that he “must” be able to bring Hue Jackson as his offensive coordinator

Lewis' desire to bring his former colleague aboard comes as no surprise considering how familiar the two are with each other. Jackson had spent the bulk of his coaching career on the Bengals coaching staff before becoming the head coach oof the Cleveland Browns in 2016.

Jackson was eventually fired during the 2018 NFL season following a 3-36-1 record. Despite enduring some struggles of his own, Lewis opted to bring him on as a special assistant before he was ultimately canned and replaced by Zac Taylor in the offseason.

The pair is now set to be reunited as the head coaches of the ninth annual NFLPA Collegiate Bowl this year. At this point, it is safe to assume that they have been discussing a little bit more than just the game plan. Of course, it remains to been whether or not team owner Jerry Jones would approve of Lewis' demands.
