Good thing the Dallas Cowboys have plenty of weapons on offense because they will be without one for awhile.

Wide receiver Michael Gallup exited the Cowboys' Week 1 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and now he's set to miss an extended period of time with a calf strain.

Gallup had 4 catches for 36 yards before leaving the game on Thursday night for the Cowboys.

Dallas still has Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb but the hope was to create a legitimate three-headed monster at wideout this year for quarterback Dak Prescott. That idea will now have to take a seat for around three to five weeks.

The wideout for Dallas looked good early on against the Buccaneers and the Cowboys offense was humming for most of the game even though they fell short 31-29.

Without Gallup, the Cowboys lose one of their best weapons on the offensive side of the ball but as noted, still have plenty to work with.

Gallup is in the midst of a contract year, something he talked about back in July, per thespun.com.

“You’re obviously going to think about it. You can’t really do anything about it but go out on the field and do what you’re supposed to do,” Gallup said. “You’re not going to get that contract if you don’t do what you’re supposed to do on the field first.”

Hopefully Gallup returns at 100% and continues to ball out for the Cowboys as they look to chase down an NFC East crown this year.
