Michael Irvin recently made headlines when he stated that “some very significant people” informed him that the Dallas Cowboys may pursue Tom Brady in free agency. After creating chaos on social media, Irvin has clarified his comments on Brady possibly headed to Dallas.

Irvin, a Hall of Fame wide receiver for the Cowboys, has maintained a close relationship with Jerry Jones after his playing career. Therefore, some fans and media members assumed that Irvin meant Jones was the significant person that told him Brady was an option for the Cowboys.

Since then, Irvin wants it to be known that no one within the Dallas organization shared the information. However, it does remain to be seen who Irvin's source is. Regardless of who it is, it seems as if they were just sharing an outlandish idea.

This offseason, the Cowboys top priority is signing Dak Prescott to a long-term deal. If they are unable to reach an agreement, Dallas may be inclined to use the franchise tag on Prescott.

As for Brady, the future Hall of Famer is an impending free agent for the first time in his career. Brady has spent 20 seasons with the New England Patriots and still intends to play in 2020. With retirement not being an option, there's a chance he chooses to finish his career elsewhere.
