Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson made a strong impression early in the season, even emerging as the new favorite to win the NFL's Most Valuable Player award. The Dallas Cowboys get the privilege of facing off with the Seahawks next.

So far, Wilson has passed for a combined nine touchdowns and 610 yards, making 52 of 63 passes in two wins against the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots.

But Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy feel confident enough in his team’s offense and believes that they can match Wilson and the Seahawks when the teams face off on Sunday.

According to Jon Machota of The Athletic, the Cowboys will not try to run the clock on offense to keep Wilson off the field for as long as possible, a strategy employed by some teams when facing Seattle. Instead, they plan on having a shootout against a team that has put up a combined 73 points in its first two games. McCarthy, however, wants the Cowboys’ offense to score as fast and as many times as possible.

The 56-year-old coach, however, has good reason to believe in his team’s offense, as Dallas is coming off a stunning 40-39 win over the Falcons last week, a game which saw them erase a 20-point deficit and score 30 points in the last two quarters to pull off their first win of the season. Quarterback Dan Prescott, in particular, was impressive against Atlanta, completing 34 of 47 passes for 450 yards and one touchdown. The 27-year-old signal-caller also helped Dallas on the ground, with five carries for 18 yards and three rushing touchdowns.

It looks like Prescott and the Cowboys offense’s performance against the Falcons is enough for McCarthy to believe that they can go toe-to-toe against Wilson and the Seattle offense in their Week 3 match on Sunday night.
