The Dallas Cowboys are in a pretty good position coming off their bye week in Week 9. But there is always room for improvement, and nobody knows that better than head coach Mike McCarthy. As a result, it hasn't exactly been surprising to see the team be linked to free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. over the past few days.

Beckham remains a free agent as he continues to work his way back from a torn ACL, and he will have no shortage of suitors looking to sign him when he is ready to return. The Cowboys are one of those teams, and when asked about the rumors linking them to Beckham, McCarthy praised Dallas' current wide receiver room, but made it abundantly clear he would like to work with Beckham along the way.

Via Michael Gehlken:

“Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said ‘we really love our receiver group.' But with free agent WR Odell Beckham, ‘I’ve always been a huge fan of his. …I’ve just heard so many excellent, excellent things about him.'”

McCarthy's praise for Beckham certainly won't shut down the rumors of him potentially joining the Cowboys, and will likely only add fuel to an already burning flame. The Cowboys have a solid wide receiver corps already, but it's become clear that they could use some more help at the position if they want to make some noise in the playoffs.

Nothing is likely to happen soon, but the Cowboys bear watching as a team that could make a serious push for Beckham later on this season. If they do end up adding Beckham, it will only add to an already strong Dallas offense, and he could be what the team needs to go on a deep playoff run this season.
