This year’s batch of rookies features several talented wide receivers, but one who has stood out after two games is the Dallas CowboysCeeDee Lamb.

Ahead of the Dallas’ Week 3 match against the Seattle Seahawks, head coach Mike McCarthy was all praises for the talented rookie. But as good as Lamb has been on the field for Dallas, the way he conducts himself off it has also impressed the Cowboys’ coach, according to Michael Gehlken of Dallas Morning News.

“He’s (Lamb) mature beyond his years. You can see it from Day 1. Clearly understands the components of being a professional, just the way he communicates, the way he goes about the meetings, the way he interacts, the way he asks questions.”

The 21-year-old Lamb, who was selected by the Cowboys with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft last April, currently leads all rookies in receptions with 11 and yards with 165. He began his NFL career against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1 with five receptions for 59 yards.

He was more impressive in the Cowboys’ 40-39 comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 2, with six receptions and 106 yards, making him the first rookie wide receiver this season to reach the 100-yard mark in a game.

Lamb showed veteran poise against Atlanta, as he helped set up Greg Zuerlein’s game-winning field goal in the final seconds of the fourth quarter that completed their stunning comeback. And with the rookie showing maturity and earning the trust of his coach and teammates, we’ll likely see more from Lamb in Dallas’ upcoming games. The former Oklahoma Sooner will look to continue his strong rookie season when the Cowboys face Seattle this Sunday.
