After previously spending his entire NFL playing career as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, veteran pass rusher Everson Griffen is an unrestricted free agent no more. According to a Wednesday evening report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Dallas Cowboys have agreed to sign Griffen, who has finally found a new home as the month of August is now well underway.

According to a separate report from Kimberley A. Martin of ESPN, Griffen and the Cowboys have agreed to a one-year deal for the upcoming 2020 campaign worth a total of $6 million.

While Griffen will earn a $3 million base salary as a member of the once-heralded Cowboys, the longtime Vikings defensive standout could earn another $3 million through various roster bonuses.

The Cowboys now appear more than ready to roll in 2020 as the NFC East will surely be Dallas' for the taking as both the Washington Football Team and New York Giants are not expected to compete at a very high level this time around. Although the arch rival Philadelphia Eagles could serve as a legitimate threat to the Cowboys as the two NFC East foes will face-off twice yet again in 2020, Dallas currently has the likes of Griffen, Demarcus Lawrence, Gerald McCoy, Aldon Smith, Tyrone Crawford and potentially even Randy Gregory along the defensive front.

On the other hand, teams likes the Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans and the aforementioned Vikings will need to find some help rushing the passer elsewhere with longtime Houston Texans pass rusher and current unrestricted free agent Jadeveon Clowney still serving as the leader in the clubhouse.
