This week's matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Dallas Cowboys will feature two of the best running back in the NFL in Todd Gurley and Ezekiel Elliott. However, Elliott is focused more on the potential outcome.

It is easy to get caught up in the hype between which back will have the bigger game. According to Jori Epstein of USA Today, Elliott is only hoping for a win:

“I think we both go in with the same mindset. It's playoff football. It's about the team. It's not really about individuals. It's about trying to go get that Super Bowl.”

Elliott's comments should come as no surprise. He was adamant about the high expectations Dallas set for themselves in the playoffs. At this point, he will take a win however he can get it.

Of course, the hype surrounding this showdown is certainly understandable. Gurley and Elliott are usually at the center of debates regarding the best running back in the NFL. It is easy to see why considering the monster numbers they each put up this year.

Elliott managed to secure his second rushing title in three seasons with 1,434 yards in the 2018 campaign. Meanwhile, Gurley finished with a league-best 21 touchdowns despite missing the final two games of the season. Aside from their rushing prowess, both have also proven to be viable receivers out of the backfield. Arguing which back is better may simply be a matter of perspective. As a result, it could very well be decided by which player can help lead their team to victory on Saturday.
