Robert Quinn of the Dallas Cowboys continues to speak his mind. Quinn hasn't been deterred by the backlash that he and his fellow players faced while protesting systemic injustice against minorities during the national anthem, and has a message for those who rallied against their efforts to effect change.

“People talked about it as disrespecting the flag and they're missing the message. It was not to cause distraction, it was to bring awareness to a situation that constantly gets thrown under the rug. So all we talk about now is war, killing and negativity. If all you talk about is negativity, guess what you're going to bring into the world?” Quinn said, per SportsDay's Tim Cowlishaw.

While the former Los Angeles Rams and Miami Dolphins defender aims to spread positivity in the world, he also aims to spread positivity on the field for the Cowboys. Traded from Miami to Dallas this offseason, Quinn has a shot to make a huge impact. He is playing across from DeMarcus Lawrence, one of the best rushers in the league, and should have his share of one-on-one opportunities.

Last year's Cowboys fielded a fierce pass rush, but it's been marred by an assortment of things. Randy Gregory was suspended again, and David Irving announced his retirement in a bizarre way on Instagram. The rest of the defense remains strong, with difference-makers at every level.

Leighton Vander Esch, Jaylon Smith and Byron Jones remain as high impact players, but if this Dallas team is to have a legitimate Super Bowl shot, Quinn will have to be a big part of the defense.
