The Dallas Cowboys have ushered in some major changes to their coaching staff following a disappointing 2019 NFL season. Fortunately, all signs are pointing to them keeping a familiar face around in linebacker Sean Lee.

Lee is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. According to Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News, he is preparing to give it another shot in the 2020 NFL season.

Lee, who turns 34 in July, plans to finalize within the next five weeks whether he’ll continue his career. He hinted toward the end of last season that he is leaning toward an 11th year.

Lee had acknowledged the prospect of retirement following yet another shortened 2018 campaign. Despite his long track record with severe injuries, the veteran decided to go another year and even took a pay cut to stick around in Dallas.

It is safe to say that the decision worked out for Lee after playing in all 16 games for the first time in his 10-year career. He played an integral role in the linebacker corps and wound finishing the season with 86 tackles, a sack, and an interception.

The fact that Lee was finally able to put together a complete season will undoubtedly play a factor in his decision whether or not to return for one more. Although he will be a free agent if he ultimately does decide to come back, it is difficult to imagine him signing anywhere else but with the Cowboys for what could potentially be his final year in the NFL.
