While Shannon Sharpe has been working with Dallas Cowboys fans and veteran commentator Skip Bayless for some time now, the fandom certainly hasn't rubbed on him. In fact, he threw a massive shade at the so-called “America's Team” while praising the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals surprised the NFL world with their stunning win over the AFC-leading Tennessee Titans on Saturday. It was a close game and Cincinnati needed a late interception to set up the game-winning field goal, but their performance was nonetheless incredible as they managed to keep up with the home team.

After witnessing such amazing display, Sharpe took to Twitter to give credit to the Bengals and showing what they are capable of on the field–unlike the Cowboys whose fans kept on talking about the Super Bowl only to fall short every year.

That's got to sting for the Cowboys, but Shannon Sharpe has a good point. Until Jerry Jones build a legitimate contender that wins the Super Bowl, they'll have a number of critics scrutinizing their every move and performance.

As for the Bengals, the job is far from over. While Sharpe has already spoken about the Super Bowl, the Cincinnati franchise has one more hurdle to overcome before they actually reach the big game and call themselves title contenders.

For now, they can surely celebrate and enjoy the moment they created for themselves.
