The Dallas Cowboys have failed to live up to expectations in recent seasons, with the team making some changes this offseason. Ahead of the 2020 season, Stephen Jones revealed how Dallas is approaching their long Super Bowl drought.

Despite holding the label of ‘America's Team', the Cowboys have gone 25 consecutive years without a Super Bowl. Of course, similar to the other 31 teams, Dallas remains focused on winning a Super Bowl.

However, in recent seasons, the Cowboys have fallen short in their efforts, making the playoffs just three times since 2010. In addition, they haven't managed to advance to the NFC Championship Game since they won the Super Bowl in 1995.

Due to the team's shortcomings in recent years, the Cowboys made changes to the coaching staff this offseason. After nine and a half seasons of Jason Garrett at the helm, Dallas replaced him with Mike McCarthy. With McCarthy leading the team, Jones believes his winning pedigree can rub off on the Cowboys.

At the same time, the Cowboys boast a talented roster, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Besides Dak Prescott under center, Dallas deploys an offense with Ezekiel Elliott, Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and now rookie CeeDee Lamb. Not to mention, they possess arguably the best offensive line in the NFL.

On the other hand, the defense also features some talented players in DeMarcus Lawrence, Jaylon Smith, and Leighton Vander Esch. The team also added veterans Gerald McCoy and Dontari Poe to the defensive line in free agency. Unlike previous seasons, Jones hopes that the additions the Cowboys made result in the franchise's first Super Bowl since 1995.
