The Dallas Cowboys have gotten their training camp underway but there is business that needs taken care of. Stephen Jones knows this is the time of the year where players like getting deals done.

According to Stephen Jones, Dallas has done many deals during training camp. The Cowboys' COO explained that some of the players on their roster—including the offensive line—have received contracts at this part of the year.

“Training camp is obviously a time when we have done many contracts,” the team’s COO told reporters per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “Look at our offensive line. Most of that group was done during camp. This is just that time of year where we get things done.

The Cowboys will need to get things done as they have three crucial players on their offense that are longing for new deals. Among them, Ezekiel Elliott is the only one who hasn't shown up to training camp.

Besides Elliott, Dak Prescott and Amari Cooper have been communicative with Dallas about signing long-term extensions. After all, both Prescott and Cooper are both in the last year of their rookie contracts.

Therefore, the Cowboys have made Prescott and Cooper the priorities as Elliott has two years left on his deal. Although, Dallas may need to change their approach with Elliott holding out of training camp.

Elliott is the engine to the Cowboys offense and without him, the offense will struggle. Stephen Jones realizes this is the time of the season to get deals done but the Cowboys better start putting pen to the paper before things get even worse.
