Former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Thomas “Hollywood” Henderson spent time on some of the greatest teams in NFL history.

As a result, “Hollywood” Henderson is now advocating for one of his former teammates, legendary quarterback Roger Staubach, to be in the discussion for one of the best signal callers in NFL history.

“Anytime somebody starts talking about quarterbacks, tough quarterbacks, you have to remember one thing: Roger Staubach was in Vietnam,” Henderson recently said of Staubach, via 247 Sports. “Name me another quarterback who has been in Vietnam, then you can talk to me about the greatest quarterback of all-time.”

Of course, it is hard to not automatically to defer to current New England Patriots quarterback and future first ballot Hall of Famer Tom Brady when talking about the GOAT. Brady just won his sixth Super Bowl while leading the Patriots to nine title games overall.

Nonetheless, Henderson still believes that the 1970s Cowboys teams are some of the best ever — period.

“The ’77 and ’78 Cowboys, the best two teams in the history of football, to me,” Henderson added. “That personnel, down the line, was impeccable. I’ve seen the ’85 Bears, I’ve seen all of them. I think the ’77 Cowboys was No. 1 in offense and No. 1 in defense. In ’78, I think we were better.”

It is worth mentioning, however, that Staubach notably led the Cowboys to two Super Bowl titles during his time in Dallas while becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to start four Super Bowls along the way as well.
