Why watch Tiger Woods win the Masters, when you can actually golf with former President—and Tiger fan—Barack Obama. That's exactly what a pair of Dallas Cowboy legends did, as Woods won his first major since 2008, the year President Obama was first elected.

Tony Romo and Emmitt Smith hit the links with the 44th president over the weekend. The former mayor of Dallas Ron Kirk also joined them on the links.

Romo has enjoyed a better retirement than most after injury and the ascendence of Dak Prescott led him to hang up his pads. Not only has he become everyone's favorite commentator for CBS, but Romo also had the opportunity to play in several PGA events. Twice he's played in the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship, and once he accepted a sponsor's exemption to play in the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Smith has his own golf invitational. Hosted at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas in May, the event raises money for the Pat & Emmitt Smith Charities, a nonprofit that creates and funds unique experiences and educational opportunities for youth through their TEAM 22 mentor program, grants, and scholarships and community partnerships. He also awards one person the Roger Staubach Award, an annual award to recognize individuals who have brought together the world of sports, entertainment, and business to make an extraordinary impact on the lives of children and youth. Last year's winner was Romo's former teammate and reliable tight end, Jason Witten.

President Obama, a Chicago native, is a well-documented Bears fan. Playing with some conference rivals likely led to quite a bit of trash talk, especially if the former president talks as much on the links as he does on the basketball court.

After long careers in sports and politics, these men had the time to get together for a round of golf. One just wonders if they wished they hadn't scheduled it for the same weekend as Tiger's comeback.
