Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has become a superstar once again while seemlessly making the transition to the broadcasting booth. Now, it appears as though Romo is looking to make yet another transition, this time to high-level golf.

Even though his career as a commentator is booming, Romo is apparently serious about competing at a very high level when it comes to his golf game.

“If you want to compete, you want to play against the best,” Romo said on Monday, via Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “Obviously, I understand where I’m at comparatively to the guys in this field. These are the best of the best.

“For me, putting it on display is the enjoyable part. You’re going to succeed; you’re going to fail; you’re going to get better. It’s sports. At the end of the day, if you just keep improving, at some point, you’ll succeed hopefully. I just think it’s what drives you. It makes you want to get up everyday, get yourself out there and trying to improve every day. That’s what makes it fun.”

The seasoned signal caller notably spent his entire NFL playing career in Dallas before eventually being unseated by current Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Immediately finding his way to the CBS booth, Romo took off in a hurry while becoming somewhat of a guru as a broadcaster en route to captivating national audiences on a weekly basis. As a result, it has been rumored that the former NFL quarterback will receive a hefty payday if he chooses to continue his career in the booth.
