Dallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick is the undoubted leader of the Cowboys offensive line, and the unit is perhaps the best in the league at full health.

Unfortunately for Frederick, he missed the entire 2018 due to his recent diagnosis with Guillain-Barre syndrome.

Dallas Cowboys staff writer Rob Phillips stated:

“If Travis Frederick’s recovery from Guillain-Barre syndrome continues on its current track, the Cowboys anticipate the four-time Pro Bowl center being ready to participate in the start of voluntary offseason program this spring, head coach Jason Garrett said Monday.”

Head coach Jason Garrett addressed the situation and realized the unfortunate nature of Frederick's health, but has a lot of optimism going forward.

“I think it’s very positive,” Garrett said of Frederick’s long-term outlook and continued, “He’s gotten stronger and stronger. He’s worked very hard in the weight room to get himself back and we do anticipate him, if things continue the way they do, to be involved in our offseason program right from the get-go. Some of the things that were concerning to him have kind of gone away.

Frederick is a fantastic player, and although he missed this season, his presence on the sidelines was incredibly valuable in accordance with the team's success. Joe Looney and Adam Redmond filled in for Frederick this season, and clearly, they filled in admirably.

Nobody can replace Frederick though as he is arguably one of the best at his position. Frederick is likely hoping for a return next season and continue to play next to Tyron Smith and Zack Martin.
