The Dallas Cowboys have often run into bad news this offseason. They finally received good news with Travis Frederick participating in offseason workouts.

According to David Helman (a writer for the Cowboys' official site), the Cowboys' Pro Bowl center was present for offseason workouts Monday. That is huge news for Dallas and its offensive line.

The last time Frederick was able to work out with the team was last year during training camp. Then, he found out he had Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a disease that attacks the nervous system.

The disease held him out of the entire 2018 season. The Cowboys were deeply affected by his absence. In 2018, Dallas allowed the second-most sacks in the NFL with 56.

Center is probably the toughest position on the offensive line to replace. That is especially true when a team has a center as good as Frederick.

The center is the quarterback for an offensive line, calling the protections and communicating with the rest of the line.

Frederick only did conditioning for his offseason workouts, but that is huge for a guy who didn't play last season. Cowboys fans can begin to get excited for his possible return to the field in 2019.

Zack Martin was excited to see Frederick working out with the team. Martin talked about how Frederick still helped the team by being a coach on the sideline.

“As much as he helped us last year, I know it was tough not being out there, just kind of doing the daily grind with all the guys that makes us so close,” Martin said. “It’s awesome having him back, and we’re excited to get him back out on the field.”

Another guy who is more than excited to see Frederick back is Dak Prescott. He does not want to be on his back as much as he was in 2018.

Frederick hopes to make a comeback in 2019 and return to his elite level of play at center for America's Team.
