Teams across the league are preparing for training camp as the new season looms in the near distance. The Dallas Cowboys are in a great spot to repeat their divisional championship, however, it sounds like the franchise could have made a splash signing in the 2022 NFL free agency. Although he plays for the Buffalo Bills, Von Miller revealed his true desired destination in the offseason.

According to Dan Pompei, Miller, a Texas native, claims he wanted to play for the Cowboys instead of the Bills. In fact, the future Hall of Fame pass rusher goes as far as to say, “I would have taken less to go to Dallas.” This offseason, Von Miller signed a six-year $120 million deal to play in Buffalo. Even so, it sounds like had the front office made an offer, he'd be lining up on the edge in Dallas this season.

Cowboys fans are going to be left asking “what could have been?” For the next several years. I mean, could you imagine Von Miller lined up at defensive end with Demarcus Lawrence on the other side? While also having Micah Parsons rocking opposing offenses as well? And have the secondary lock it down with Trevon Diggs leading the way in interceptions? Just so much potential disappears as all of those possibilities died the day Von Miller signed with the Bills in the 2022 NFL free agency.

So, while Buffalo fans look forward to the upcoming season, Cowboys fans will be wondering why the front office didn't pull the trigger. Regardless, Dallas has a solid defense right now and should be fine without Von Miller. Even so, it's gotta sting a little bit knowing a future Hall of Famer wanted to play in Dallas.
