There's still an opportunity for the Dallas Cowboys to sign Earl Thomas ahead of the 2020 season. But Xavier Woods isn't too concerned with the possibility that the Cowboys add the veteran safety. While Dallas considers the idea of adding him, Woods shared his thoughts on the rumors of the team signing Thomas.

“It doesn’t bother me anymore, man,” Woods said, via the team’s website. “I don’t even pay no mind to it.”

Following the release of Thomas from the Baltimore Ravens, the Cowboys were quickly brought up as a possible landing spot. Of course, Thomas iterated during the 2018 season, when he was with the Seattle Seahawks, for Dallas to “come and get him”. Thomas, a Texas native, has always expressed his desire to play for the Cowboys.

On the other hand, Woods is currently in the pole position to be the starting free safety for Dallas for the third straight season. In the past two seasons combined, Woods has tallied 133 tackles, 14 pass breakups, and four interceptions.

There's no doubt that Thomas would be a welcomed addition to the Cowboys as he still played at a Pro Bowl level in 2019. During his lone season with the Ravens, Thomas accounted for 49 tackles, four pass breakups, and two interceptions. The most impressive part was he recorded these numbers just a year after he broke his leg with the Seahawks.

It remains to be seen if Dallas makes a run at Earl Thomas as the upcoming season approaches. Even if they do, Xavier Woods, who is projected to start at free safety, isn't bothered by the ongoing discussions of Thomas' possible arrival.
