The Dallas Cowboys have not been shy about expressing their high expectations for the 2019 NFL season. Fortunately, they are expecting to have one of their most key players in guard Zack Martin back in time to start the year.

Martin has spent the offseason nursing a back injury which has led to his absence at training camp. According to Mike Fisher of 247 Sports, he is aiming to be ready for the season opener:

Zack Martin isn't putting a timetable in return except to say he’ll be ready for regular season. ‘We’ll give it some time to calm down a little bit and hopefully be back sooner than later,’

This is certainly an encouraging update for the Cowboys. There has been plenty of speculation regarding Martin's health following his absence at training camp. It appears Dallas may be taking a cautious approach with his recovery.

Unfortunately, they have been no strangers to ailing offensive lineman in recent years. Last year it was center Travis Frederick that was forced to sit out due to an illness. This led to the Cowboys giving up the second-most sacks in the league during the 2018 campaign.

Martin has long served as an integral piece of this once-formidable offensive line. His durability has never been a question after missing two games for the first time in his career last season due to a knee injury. As a result, there is good reason for him and Dallas to be optimistic about his looming return leading up to the 2019 campaign.
