Add Zack Martin’s name to the growing list of absentees at OTAs who are angling for new deals. The Dallas Cowboys’ All-Pro right guard didn’t show up for the start of the team's OTAs on Tuesday as he looks to secure a long-term contract.

Per ESPN’s Todd Archer:

All-Pro right guard Zack Martin did not take part in Tuesday’s OTA and it’s not clear if he will work in any of them, according to multiple sources. The Cowboys and Martin’s agents have been in talks regarding a long-term deal over the last few weeks.

The 16th overall pick by Dallas in the 2014 draft, Martin has been a major piece in the Cowboys’ outstanding offensive line over the last few years. In his first four years in the league, Martin has gone to four Pro Bowls and has been a First-Team All-Pro selection twice. He has yet to miss a single game since coming into the league. He was also the No. 1 rated guard in the entire league by Pro Football Focus last year.

Martin will be in the final year of his rookie deal, which will pay him $9.3 million. It would certainly be a good idea for the Cowboys to lock up one of the premier offensive linemen in the entire league sooner rather than later. But it remains to be seen how those negotiations go.

As long as he doesn’t get that new deal, it seems unlikely that Martin reports with the Cowboys again until he has to during mandatory camp.
