The Dallas Cowboys clinched the NFC East division title with their win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon and are locked into the No. 4 seed in the NFC, but Cowboys owner Jerry Jones still wants the team to put the pedal to the metal next week against the New York Giants.

When asked if Dallas would be playing to win in its game against the Giants this coming Sunday, Jones assured that the Cowboys would be putting their best foot forward, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News:

“Absolutely. We’re all-out. We’ve got work to do. We’ve got some work to do out here, I think we’ll all agree. We don’t want to, if we can, go into the playoff with dangling participles — loose ends.”

Jones is clearly not satisfied with the way his team has played the last two weeks.

After winning five straight games, including a pair of wins over the Philadelphia Eagles and a victory over the New Orleans Saints, the Cowboys were shut out by the Indianapolis Colts last week, and on Sunday, they were not exactly dominant in their win over the slumping Buccaneers.

Dallas got off to an inauspicious start this season, going 3-5 over its first eight games before a road win over the Eagles galvanized the team.

Since that point, the Cowboys have been one of the league's best ballclubs, but Jones wants to make sure the team is in tip-top shape heading into the playoffs.

That likely means Dallas won't be resting any starters in what is otherwise a meaningless game against the Giants.
