The Dallas Cowboys suffered a big loss when Dak Prescott went down with a terrible leg injury on Sunday. The Cowboys handed the reins to Andy Dalton, who led them to a 37-34 win over the New York Giants and showed signs that the season may not be over just yet.

On the daily Locked On Cowboys Podcast, hosts Marcus Mosher and Landon McCool discussed Dak Prescott's season-ending injury and how the Cowboys' playoff hopes might still be alive:

Marcus Mosher: During the Jason Garrett era, from 2010 to 2019, as I just mentioned, it seemed like whenever the Cowboys lost their quarterback the season went down the tubes. That hasn't always been the case for Mike McCarthy. If you remember back to 2013, Aaron Rodgers suffered a calf injury early in that season and he got some pretty good play out of Scott Tolzien and Matt Flynn. They even beat the Cowboys in a wild game in Dallas 37-36 where Matt Flynn played well.

I'm not suggesting that the Cowboys are going to be a Super Bowl contender or even a playoff team under Andy Dalton. But I do think he could potentially function enough to keep, you know, these weapons making plays on offense. I know the offensive line is terrible. There are a lot of things to still be excited about in this team and now we just have to adjust our expectations … So while I agree that the season is probably over in the sense of them competing for a Super Bowl, would it shock you if they got to 6-10 or 7-9 and potentially won the division? You look at what Philadelphia is doing right now and their schedule coming up, I don't see them getting back on track anytime soon. I think there's a chance this team could be playing some meaningful games here in late November, December. What do you think?

Landon McCool: I feel like I'm taking crazy pills hearing you say that.
