After a breakout year in 2016, the Dallas Cowboys took a step back last season. America's Team missed the playoffs after their star running back Ezekiel Elliott missed six games due to suspension and quarterback Dak Prescott struggled at times during his sophomore season in Dallas.

Although the Cowboys are coming off a season in which they missed the postseason, Prescott and company are expected to bounce back in 2018. Along with attempting to get back on track, the third-year quarterback is changing his diet because he of all things, he's getting old, via Clarence Hill Jr. of Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“I'm getting older,” Prescott said Tuesday night. “I figure I better fix my diet now. I guess I've dropped a few pounds, but it's more about not eating the fast food, being 22 and realizing my metabolism is going to slow down.”

A young quarterback already looking to improve his diet at 24 is impressive and a great sign for Dallas. Prescott is clearly thinking long-term with his career and has reportedly lost 10 pounds during the Cowboys offseason.

In 2017, Prescott followed up an incredible rookie season leading the Cowboys to a 9-7 record. The Mississippi State product threw for 3,324 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. The versatile quarterback also rushed for a career-high 357 yards and six touchdowns on 57 carries.

Next season, the Cowboys hope to get back to form as one of the best teams in the NFC with no suspension looming over Elliott and Prescott eagerly wanting to take the next step in his development.
