The Dallas Cowboys have long been interested in Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas (and vice versa), making a trade offer to the Seahawks for his services as recent as this past September.

With Thomas set to become a free agent this offseason, the Cowboys are surely to be one of the interested parties, and Bleacher Report's Maurice Moton feels that Dallas should absolutely pursue him.

It makes plenty of sense.

The Cowboys want Thomas, and Thomas apparently wants the Cowboys.

Of course, Thomas played in just three games this season due to a broken leg, so it stands to reason that Dallas' interest in him not be as strong as it once was, but when healthy, Thomas is one of the best safeties in football.

That means the Cowboys will likely still check in on Thomas, at the very least. However, it's entirely possible that their potential offer will not be as lucrative as it would have been had Thomas not gotten injured.

The 29-year-old has spent all nine of his NFL seasons with the Seahawks and was selected by Seattle with the 14th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

He made the Pro Bowl as soon as his second year after finishing with 98 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries and then proceeded to make five straight trips to Honolulu overall, including three straight First-Team All-Pro selections during the streak.

Overall, Thomas has made six Pro Bowl appearances and was a crucial part of a dominant Seahawks secondary that made it to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013-14 and 2014-15, winning the title in the former year.
