The Dallas Cowboys have been labeled a potential landing spot for New York Jets safety Jamal Adams, but not for the price that has been speculated on social media.

According to Cowboys insider Mike Fisher, Dallas has no intention of trading wide receiver Michael Gallup in any deal for Adams.

The Gallup rumor stemmed from a Twitter post from long-time NFL reporter Gary Myers, who was speculating what it would take for the Cowboys to land Adams and speculated that Gallup—along with a first-round draft pick—could be a part of that package.

Other outlets then ran with it and turned it into a concrete rumor.

The Jets are reportedly seeking a first-rounder and a third-rounder in exchange for Adams. Fisher notes that, at the moment, no team is willing to pay that price.

So the idea of Dallas trading a budding star at wide out and a first-round pick just doesn't sound right.

Fisher adds that the Cowboys have yet to even speak to the Jets about Adams; it's just that New York hasn't spoken to Adams about a new contract, which has peeved him and resulted in trade rumors.

Dallas has been mentioned as a potential suitor for Adams in the past, so the “Adams to Dallas” rumors are really just a case of people putting two and two together. At least right now.

Gallup, who is entering his third NFL season, is coming off of a breakout 2019 campaign in which he hauled in 66 receptions for 1,107 yards and six touchdowns.
