Hall of Famer Michael Irvin wasted no time in listing the asking price for New York Jets safety Jamal Adams. It seems his former team in the Dallas Cowboys has heeded his advice by rekindling their efforts to bring him in.

Irvin says the Jets reportedly want a first and third-round pick in exchange for Adams. According to NFL writer Gary Myers, the Cowboys have since expressed legitimate interest:

“The Cowboys are seriously in play now that they confirmed the Jets want 1st and 3rd round picks for Adams.”

The Cowboys' interest in Adams hardly comes as a surprise considering they were rumored to be one of the teams looking to strike a deal before the trade deadline during the 2019 campaign. Now that they know the Jets' price tag, it appears they could be looking to make it come to fruition this time around.

Of course, Dallas still has some rather pressing matters to address before taking on another lucrative contract in their books. They are still on the midst of negotiations with quarterback Dak Prescott after placing an exclusive franchise tag on him this offseason. They are currently $5.6 million under the salary cup and must sign Prescott to a long-term deal in order to clear space for Adams

A trade to the Cowboys would make for quite the homecoming for Adams as a Dallas Fort-Worth native. There are also rumors about a couple of NFC East rivals also being interested in bringing the two-time All-Pro aboard. This could give team owner Jerry Jones a chance to kill two birds with one stone.
